In the first five months this year, Phu Cuong Jostoco exported more than 509MT of frozen shrimp, worth approximately US$5.5 million. Japan was its largest importer, with US$3.8 million, followed by France, Taiwan, the Netherlands, and Italy.

In May alone, the company shipped 188MT of shrimp, valued at US$2 million to Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and some other Asian countries.

Phu Cuong reported its shrimp exports in May increased thanks to higher selling price. In Ca Mau, the shrimp harvest season started in May, shrimp production was high but processing plants were still in shortage of material supply. Selling price of black tiger shrimp was record high.
